The Doctoral Program in Gerontology has announced its speaker for its upcoming event this fall, “Influencing National and State Health Policy: the Gerontology Imperative”.
Dr. Alice Bonner will be speaking at the event on November 12th. Bonner has been a geriatric nurse practitioner for more than 24 years. She is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at Northeastern University and works with students and faculty on research to improve care and services for older adults.
Bonner previously served as Director of the Bureau of Health Care Safety and Quality at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. She was also Director of the Division of Nursing Homes in the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in Baltimore. While at CMS, Bonner worked with state and federal agencies, quality improvement organizations, researchers, and others on improving quality and safety in nursing homes.
Bonner will be speaking on November 12th at 12 p.m. in The Commons Room 329.
