How to Write an NSF Graduate Fellowship Application (7/19)

How to write a fellowship proposal

Dr. Ralph Pollack will be presenting a formal “How to Write an NSF Graduate Fellowship Application” on July 19th from 1:30-3:30 in MEYR 120.

The NSF Graduate Research fellowship offers three years of support at $32,000 with a $12,000 cost-of-education allowance to the institution. The application is relatively short with 3, 2-page essays: a personal statement, previous research experience, and research plan. The applications, particularly the research plan, are evaluated based on the status of the student (e.g., first year, second year) so a first year student need not be in a research group at the time of applying.
