Graduate Assistant (GA) Handbook Updated for Fall 2010

The Graduate School is pleased to announce that the Graduate Assistant (GA) handbook has been revised and updated for Fall 2010. It is our hope that the new handbook will articulate and explain existing polices and guidelines in a manner that is clear and unambiguous. Although no policies were changed while producing the new handbook, there are a few changes that are worth mentioning.

• A new section, Section III., has been added specifically for international GAs.
• In Section VIII., Benefits Available, describes more concisely how departments calculate tuition remission benefits based on the number of credits for which the student is being billed, rather than the number of credits in which the student is enrolled.
• Section IX., Registration Requirements, provides information for both the academic year and summer session.
• The category of hourly graduate student worker, previously under “Categories and Duties,” is now its own section, Section XVII.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Graduate School.
